Twenty-three had a 18F-FDG PET/CT before treatment and/or during and/or after treatment. All patients will be followed for 18 months after the end of treatment. A control group of five patients with previous history of tuberculosis was also included and PET/CT was performed.\n\nResults. Three cases of differential diagnosis were excluded of the study. The initial PET for staging showed additional lesions in 8/10 patients compared to conventional imaging. At the end of treatment, 6/11 patients had a negative PET, and 5/11 patients had a positive PET. PET had a significant clinical impact for 3/10 patients at initial staging (guiding biopsy or increase of planned treatment duration), and for 3/16 during follow up (extend or early interruption of the treatment). All PET scans in the control group were negative.\n\nConclusion. 18F-FDG PET has an excellent sensitivity for the detection of extrapulmonary tuberculosis lesion and excellent negative predictive values. Strategies to reduce climate change impacts on Australian biodiversity include a mixture of mitigation and adaptation actions (sensu Millar et al., 2007) such as: (1) significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, (2) ensuring bio-diverse carbon capture, (3) better tackling pre-existing stressors on biodiversity, (4) better preparing for the effects of major natural disturbances, (5) significantly improving off-reserve conservation efforts including fostering appropriate connectivity, and (6) enhancing the existing reserve system by making it more comprehensive, adequate and representative. The first strategy above demands a global response otherwise major mitigation attempts in Australia that are not paralleled elsewhere around the world will have little effect on climate change and, in turn, contribute little to enhanced biodiversity conservation.

linear features in images with various geometric and radiometric properties taken at different times. This article used linear features for image registration that were chosen since they can be reliably extracted from imagery with significantly different geometric and radiometric properties. The modified iterated Hough transform (MIHT) is used as the matching strategy for automatically deriving an estimate of the parameters involved in the transformation function relating the images to be registered as well as the correspondence between conjugate lines. Derived edges from the registered images are used as the basis for change detection. The utilization of edges is motivated by the fact that they are invariant with respect to possible radiometric differences between the images in question. Linear features extraction, feature matching, image registration and pixel-pixel subtraction have been implemented using SPOT, Landsat, Ikonos and aerial photographs that have different radiometric, spatial and temporal resolutions.
